THE CLASSIC REVOLT AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT
The government is wildly unpopular.
Unemployment and poverty are rising.
Groups are formed to oppose the government and a political system which is corrupt.
A march to the capital is organised, with the intention of overthrowing the bad guys.
The ringleaders are William Oliver, Isaac Ludlam, Thomas Bacon, William Turner and Jeremiah Brandreth.
William Oliver is a government spy and agent provocateur.
He has been travelling around the country and inciting the uprisings.
The marchers set off for the capital.
A man called Robert Walters is shot dead.
The military appear on the scene.
The march comes to an end.
Brandreth, Turner, and Ludlam are sentenced to death, and executed.
The Pentrich Rebellion was in 1817, in the UK.
After 1817, conditions gradually improved.
