Around the World in 5792 Pages... This Weeks Theme for Barnes and Noble Freebie Nook eBooks!

Around the World in 5792 Pages is this weeks theme for the Barnes & Nobles free eBooks for your Nook promotion! So where are we taken while reading the pages of these classics? We'll be taking a fantastic voyage to Lilliput, where we'll meet the 6-inch people who fear our suddden presence in Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. We'll travel back in time from 19th century New England with Hank Morgan after he gets a good knock on the head and wakes up in King Arthur's Court, with knights & magicians, and the superstitions of the times in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain. And we'll also take a trip to Arabia and into the hands of the sultana Scheherazade, who will regale us with ancient tales from Arabia, India, and Persia, while trying to keep herself alive in The Arabian Nights by an Anonymous Author. You can find the current available downloads at Barnes & Noble, and in the meantime Here's What's Available This Week...
  • Kim by Rudyard Kipling
  • The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain
  • The Jungle Books by Rudyard Kipling
  • The Arabian Nights by Anonymous
  • Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen
  • A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain
  • The Enchanted Castle and Five Children and It by Edith Nesbit
  • The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer
  • King Solomon's Mines by H. Rider Haggard
  • Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift
  • Two Years Before the Mast by Richard Henry
  • Sailing Alone Around the World by Joshua Slocum
These eBook titles change every friday and the previous weeks titles go back to their original prices, which range anywhere from $1.99 - $5.99. So, if you have a Nook, pick these up for free while you can. They're great for students, and for us older kids who'd like to read or reread a great classic.

*BTW, Sailing Alone Around the World is the true story of Joshua Slocum, who at the age of fifty-one in the year of 1895 became the first person to ever have circumnavigated the globe alone. This is his account of the voyage, which includes storms, coral reefs and pirates. I had never heard of this book before, but it seems so current with the accounts of so many people setting out and trying to accomplish this in the news these days.
